There are three components to the product, the first one with most importance, is obviously the one of greatest quantity, ie. The long chain fibre molecule that is modified from corn (mielies), do not get confused with other modifications that can be manufactured from the same raw material which include glucose and fructose and dextrose, this one is in the form of modification that alters the starch molecule and turns it ( through a dry heat process and other things) into a long chain molecule that resembles fibre to the body.
It tastes slightly sweet and is very good for you as it takes the place of a pro biotic.
These molecules have been called all sorts of names including Dextrin’s ( glue ).They are currently being reclassified.
The other very minor ingredients are chemically derived from the original maple tree sweetness like molecule and forms the intenseness of taste and fools the taste buds, it is completely safe and well documented as an accepted food ingredient in most of the countries of the world for the past fifty or more years, without any adverse conditions ascribed to it directly. |
